Terms of Service

POLICIES

I will provide tutoring, test prep, coaching, and other educational support, as needed, for your child. Tutoring is a collaborative process and it requires honesty and effort from the tutor, student, and parents/caregivers.

CONFIDENTIALITY

I will not share any information about students, including their academic performance and personal information, with anyone other than their parent or guardian unless given express permission to do so (e.g., sharing with a teacher) via email.

I may solicit testimonials, which are completely optional and can be provided anonymously.

PAYMENT

You agree to pay the rate presented when booking an appointment. Currently, tutoring and executive functioning coaching cost $175 per hour. Online classes have variable rates, which are provided before booking. Discounts will only be honored with a valid coupon code.

Payment in full is required when scheduling a first-time tutoring session. Subsequent sessions will be invoiced weekly or monthly, which will be agreed to in advance of confirming a weekly time slot. Payment is due within seven (7) days of receiving an invoice.

If payment is more than fourteen (14) days late, I will not schedule future sessions until payment is made in full.

CANCELLATION

I understand things come up, children get sick, and schedules change. It is your responsibility to notify me of any need to cancel or reschedule a meeting before 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time the day before a scheduled meeting via email or text message. If canceled after 8:00 p.m., you will be billed for a cancellation fee equal to fifty percent (50%) of the tutoring fee.

If your child is sick, please cancel our session. If urgent, we can move to an online session, but I do not want to get sick and I do not want to encourage students to work when they are not feeling well.  

I will do my best to honor requests for rescheduled meetings, but my hours are limited and I cannot guarantee there will be another opening within the week. If there is no suitable time to reschedule, you will not be charged for the meeting.

If your student is a no-show for a scheduled meeting, you will be charged for a full session and I will not reschedule. 

If you chronically cancel or reschedule, I may limit future appointments and require full payment in advance of any sessions.

NO GUARANTEES

 I make no guarantees regarding grades, test scores, school admission, or other outcomes. I do not have control over what a student does or does not do outside their tutoring session and I cannot ensure that a student will utilize a strategy I teach them. My students often feel more confident and see improvements in grades or test scores, but this is not an outcome I can guarantee.

To get the most out of tutoring, I encourage my students to be attentive, receptive to suggestions, realistic about their goals, and practice consistently.

 

MUTUAL RESPECT

I promise to treat all clients and students with respect and integrity and will never engage in behavior that is intimidating, bullying, or harassing. I expect mutual respect and integrity from clients and students. 

 

TERMINATION OF SERVICES

 You may end services at any time, for any reason, by sending an email to maryann.aita@gmail.com to ensure that you have no outstanding balance due.
